Seeing the Invisible!

This past Sabbath we heard from Pastor Mark on seeing the invisible. Yahweh works in mysterious ways that are often invisible to us. He (usually) doesn’t use a physical form to appear to us, but that doesn’t mean He’s not there.

Seeing the invisible is sometimes, but not always, attributed to lack of faith, doubt or desperation. People often become too wrapped up in their own problems and lives to see that Yahweh is there beside them the whole time. The truth is that the wonders, miracles, and blessings we see or experience every single day is the invisible! We merely have to open our eyes and realize that it is there. In 2 Kings 6:15-17 we see Elisha and his servant were faced with the army of the Syrians. Elisha’s servant was fearful and overwhelmed but Elisha could see the invisible army of Heaven surrounding them and ready to battle the Syrians. Elisha helped open his servant’s eyes so that he too could see and be comforted by the fact that they were not alone. However, it did not change the fact that they were still facing an enemy army. Seeing the invisible doesn’t change your circumstances, but it does change how you perceive them. Take comfort in the fact that Yah’s invisible armies are always around us. Even if you can’t physically see them know that you are not alone in whatever you may face in life.

In a more metaphorical sense, there are people, human beings that are often invisible to us. In Mark 1:40-42 Yahshua heals a leper. Lepers were cast out of society and largely forgotten because they were viewed as unclean. Likewise, addicts, homeless, and other groups of people are often cast to the side or forgotten about. Yahshua set the example for us by purposely reaching out to people like that. Seeing the invisible in society is seeing like Yahshua. Those are the exact types of people who need His help and to hear about His love. As believers, we need to become more mindful of those around us. No one should be forgotten. No one should be cast out. No one should be invisible to us when we are acting in accordance with the One who gave us sight.
