The Real Mission

This past Sabbath we heard from Pastor Mark on what our ‘Real Mission’ is. Being a believer is not just about our own salvation and eternal life, but everyone else’s as well. Yahshua’s last command to His disciples was to spread the Good News through all the Earth (Matthew 28:19). That, ultimately, is our mission.4

Luke chapter 15 has three parables that all have essentially the same premise: something is lost, then found. The first parable is of a sheep that gets lost, the second is of a coin that is lost and the third is the Prodigal Son. The first two are identical in the sense that a person loses something of great personal value, goes to find it, then celebrates when it is found. In the third parable, we see the father watching for his son, most likely regularly, to return. In a similar way, people who do not know Yahweh are lost. Every one of them are extremely important to Him and He will do anything to “find” them. Luke 15:10 says, “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of Yah over one sinner who repents.” Every time someone repents and comes to know Yahweh, all the angels rejoice. How amazing is that? Finding lost people should be importance to us as believers because we were once lost ourselves. We should be searching and praying daily for people who don’t know our Savior. Pastor Mark posed the question do you love people enough to bring them back into the fold? Like a lost sheep or coin, we should do everything we can to find them and bring them home.
